Sponsor a dog

Sponsoring a dog in our care is simple and impactful, starting from just £2.00 a month.

What You'll Receive as a Sponsor:
- A personalised photo certificate featuring your new furry or hairless friend, perfect for treasuring.
- Seasonal updates three times a year via email—Christmas, Easter, and summer—keeping you informed about their journey and well-being.
Why Your Support Matters:
Every week, we receive calls from people needing to give up their dogs. While most find loving new homes, some require the ongoing care and support of our rescue due to health issues or temperament challenges. Our dedicated foster homes provide love and care, but we continue to cover all medical expenses throughout the dog's life, which can sometimes exceed £1,000 in a month.
We depend on sponsorships to care for these permanent foster dogs. Your support can change lives.

Prince

Prince came into rescue through no fault of his own, and despite the confusion of his new situation, he quickly proved to be a true gentleman. From his very first day in foster care, he was an obedient, calm, and loving companion. He was truly a joy to be around, happily snuggling on the sofa, sleeping on the bed, and quietly exploring the garden.
However, his foster mum soon realised that Prince's calm demeanor changed dramatically outdoors. He became very reactive, wary of strangers and his surroundings, making walks a stressful experience. Overwhelmed by the outside world, he struggled to enjoy a simple stroll. His foster mum worked patiently with him, and over time, he made great progress, even enjoying camping trips.
It became clear that Prince, an extremely lovable dog, needed a special home—one where he could be free from the fear of unexpected encounters with people or other dogs. His foster mum, an experienced owner of reactive dogs who loved him dearly, realised that a city environment couldn't give him the life he deserved. She put his needs first and advised that a rural home would be a better fit, so the trustees decided that Prince would thrive if he joined our permanent foster family.
His foster mum continued to care for him while the search for his perfect permanent foster forever home began. It was a long process, as many applicants didn't meet the specific requirements for Prince's happiness. Finally, his foster mum and the trustees found his dream home: a beautiful countryside property with its own large, secure grounds where Prince could finally live without fear. He now lives his best life, roaming freely with his new dog brothers and sisters. He even enjoys his village strolls and is happy to greet the few familiar faces he meets.

Loki

When Loki first came to us, he was terrified. He'd been let down by people before and believed everyone was out to hurt him so he'd try to defend himself when approached. It was heartbreaking to see, and we knew he needed a special kind of home—one with endless patience, experience, and love. Our trustees decided that the very best thing for him was to stay exactly where he was, in rescue. Thankfully, we found a foster family who had the magic touch and was able to shown him what a safe and happy life looks like.
And what a difference it's made! Loki has blossomed into a happy, confident boy in the company of his family. He's thriving and absolutely loves his new life, soaking up all the attention and affection he can get. Now, he's always off on an adventure with his foster parents, embracing every moment as long as they're by his side.
Just look at that smile!
He's even decided to become a health nut, helping himself to a cheeky berry or two on his walks. He knows how important it is to get your five a day in. Don't worry, we've told him that two or three is plenty.

Romeo

Romeo came to us through no fault of his own, and a routine vet visit revealed a heartbreaking secret: he had an old, untreated broken jaw. His teeth were severely rotten, and the jawbone was soft and crumbling. The vet said a human with this condition would be in the ICU and in extreme pain.
An immediate dental operation was critical, but it was also high-risk. We were warned that his jaw could crumble during the procedure, which would have meant the only humane option was to let him go. On top of that, he also has a heart murmur. Despite these odds, we moved forward at the advice of the vet. Thankfully, Romeo pulled through and had 14 teeth removed.
The vet confirmed his lower jaw was split in two, and due to his weak bone and lack of teeth, wiring or pinning the jaw was not an option.
While Romeo will always have a loose jaw, he is no longer in pain and can live a full, happy life on a soft food diet. Due to his fragile jaw and the risks associated with another anesthetic, his vet advised against neutering. The trustees have therefore decided he will remain in the care of the rescue.
His foster family says, "Romeo is a happy and bouncy dog who loves life. He gets along well with my two other Chinese Crested dogs and my cat, Sidney. He loves sunbathing and snuggling up in my office chair while I work. He and his housemates get on really well and he loves going camping in my micro-camper."

Phoebe

When Phoebe, an extremely frightened dog, came into rescue, our rescue was already full. Thankfully, one of our incredible foster families, agreed to take her in as an extra foster until another space became available. Her arrival was shocking; she thrashed violently in her crate, screaming in terror. Her cries were so loud that neighbours came out to see what was happening, with one even shedding tears from witnessing Phoebe's distress.
Phoebe’s foster mum was understandably a bit apprehensive. Once inside the house, Phoebe was matted, trembling, and overwhelmed with fear, immediately finding a place to hide. The family understood she needed space and time, so they let her take the lead.
After one week, Phoebe began to show progress. She would watch her foster family from a distance but would still hide if anyone spoke to her. By the second week, she accepted a treat from her foster mum, though she still trembled at sudden movements. She couldn't yet approach her foster dad, even though he was the one who fed her and dropped treats for her
.
A space finally opened up for Phoebe in another foster home, but her foster mum made the decision: Phoebe had to stay. Moving her again would be too traumatic, and the Fosters didn’t want to undo all the progress she had made. They realised this sweet girl had very limited life experiences and struggled with simple dog joys like a cosy bed, a loving touch, or walks.
Thanks to the Fosters’ dedication and months of hardwork Phoebe started to blossom. She began to trust, enjoying garden zoomies and long walks. The Rescue even found her a permanent home! But sadly, she was returned within 24 hours. The new family decided they couldn't work with her fears after all. Heartbroken, Phoebe’s foster family welcomed her back with open arms, and she settled back in quickly.
It became clear that Phoebe needed a special home where she could feel safe. The trustees agreed she'd thrive better in a permanent foster home, where they appreciated her quirks and managed her triggers with ease. Thankfully her current Foster home agreed to take her on. With her new forever family, Phoebe’s life has been transformed. She’s now a cheeky goofball who adores cuddles, sleeping on the sofa, and even going on holidays. She can walk along busy promenades, sit in pubs, and run along on the beach. She’s on top of the world with her trusted human.
However, Phoebe’s journey isn’t over. She can still regress if she’s separated from her foster mum, becoming unpredictable and a high flight risk. Even after two years, she is still nervous around her foster dad, though she now allows him to walk her on a lead.

Teddy

Teddy, a 3 year old boy joined us in rescue in 2020. He was a dog who had endured some form of neglect. Covered in open sores and so infested with fleas they had burrowed deep under his skin, he had to be sedated just for his wounds to be treated. The trauma had driven him to a state of near madness.
The initial plan was to rehabilitate and rehome him, but it quickly became clear that his journey would be a difficult one. He would self-harm and become overwhelmingly distraught when anyone tried to help him. His wonderful foster mum tried everything to stop his destructive behaviour, from a rubber neck donut to a full body suit, but he would pierce them or simply tear them apart. Even with regular medication, his self-mutilating behavior continued.
To this day, poor Teddy still struggles. He is so traumatised from the pain he once suffered he falls apart when anyone tries to provide him with basic care, such as bathing, grooming or giving him his medication. He's intolerant of most dogs and generally prefers to be left alone. So, with all these challenges, why save Teddy?
Despite his struggles, Teddy has an incredibly sweet side. He has a soft spot for the younger dogs his mum has in foster, and he’ll even attempt to play with them, though he often looks a little confused and unsure. He'll pick up a toy and offer it to the younger dog, only to run away before he has to interact.
But the most heartwarming thing about Teddy is his emotional support llama—a soft toy given to him three years ago as a Christmas present by a kind follower. Teddy has carried it everywhere since, sleeping with it in his mouth. He even panics if he can't find it. His foster mum was once woken in the night by his hysterical barking because he’d lost his llama, only to find another dog had fallen asleep on top of it.
Teddy enjoys taking his llama on his adventures digging around the garden . However, he doesn't appreciate his mum trying to take it from him!
Teddy's foster mum who has an excellent success rate of rehabilitation shared her concerns along with the trustees that poor broken and emotionally scarred Teddy would never be abled to be rehomed. Sadly Teddy had reached the end of his rehabilitation road. So there was only one option left for Teddy...he joined the rescues permanent foster family where he can live the rest of his life free from the pressure of having to conform and where he is safe and cared for by his experienced and very laidback foster mum.🥰
Does he make his foster mum's life a little complicated? Yes, he certainly does! But she wouldn't have it any other way. Through it all they love each other as no one understands Teddy's needs like his foster mum.

Eros

Eros is a lovable rescue dog who arrived in a state of confusion but with an undeniably friendly spirit. Despite his warmth, Eros was clearly distressed, pacing and crying as he searched for comfort. It soon became apparent that he suffered from severe separation anxiety, as he would follow his foster mum around the house crying and would howl non-stop whenever left alone.
After a thorough vet check-up, Eros was diagnosed with a grade 3/4 heart murmur, which added to the urgency of finding him a special home. He needed a nurturing environment where someone would be present throughout the day to help manage his anxieties, allowing him to feel secure without the worry of disturbing the neighbours with his howling.
Recognising Eros's needs, the trustees determined that his current foster home provided the ideal environment and support to help him thrive. With the right care and companionship, Eros is embracing his new life.
